Utility Vegetation Management

We have a team of certified line clearance arborists at Birchcrest Tree and Landscape trained to help utilities safely provide uninterrupted power to customers. We provide transmission line clearing, distribution right-of-way clearing, and substation maintenance. The utility companies provide us with precise specifications for each trimming contract that are followed exactly as stated, as required by the New York State Public Service Commission (PSC).

Safety

At the forefront of our operations is an unwavering commitment to safety. Safety isn't merely a requirement—it's a continuous process. Through weekly meetings, safety standdowns, quarterly seminars, and jobsite safety briefings, we ensure safety remains the focal point at every jobsite, every single day. Our team comprehends the significance of each task, consistently employing proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), implementing best management practices for traffic enforcement, prioritizing EHAP awareness, ensuring secure drop zones, and practicing safe climbing and rigging techniques. Furthermore, every crew member is proficient in First Aid and CPR. These practices exemplify just a fraction of our rigorous safety standards.

Equipment

We operate with state-of-the-art equipment and can access resources that span the eastern United States. We have the capacity to efficiently complete regional projects, mobilize and deploy storm response teams rapidly, and keep the power on for our vital utilities.
